Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center
Volunteer DAV Drivers Needed
The DAV program provides the vehicles; we have driving opportunities for willing volunteers like you!
If you love to drive and help others, then the Walla Walla VA Medical Center needs YOU! Our Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Transportation program needs dedicated community members to volunteer as drivers to transport Veterans from their homes to medical appointments. What a great way to support the men and women who served our country!
Volunteer drivers are especially needed for the Walla Walla and Richland/TriCities areas. However, we also provide transportation for Veterans in Yakima to both the Walla Walla VA Medical Center and Puget Sound VA Healthcare System in Seattle. Veterans can also be offered transportation from La Grande, Pendleton, and Hermiston, OR based on availability of drivers. We provide the vehicles for transportation; we just need willing drivers like you.
In addition to the benefits of serving the needs of our Veterans, volunteer drivers receive free flu shots, access to training classes, and a free lunch. Hours vary, but you can choose the days and times to volunteer that best fits your schedule. Candidates must pass both a background check and a physical, have a current driver’s license, and proof of current private auto insurance.
If interested, contact us today to get a volunteer application packet – you can pick it up in person or have it either emailed or mailed to you. For questions and more information, contact Linda Wondra, Public Affairs and Voluntary Service, at:
