Tobacco Cessation Program
The Walla Walla VA continues to help Veterans and employees kick the habit - the tobacco habit. Veterans and employees are invited to come join the ongoing Tobacco Cessation Support Program. This program is intended for individuals who smoke, as well as users of snuff and all other tobacco products. We want to support your goal of quiting.
Did you know that approximately 440,000 Americans die annually as a result of illnesses related to tobacco use? Here's your chance to avoid becoming part of these statistics. Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life. Each day is a chance to start anew.
If you are ready,
The time to quit . . . is now!
Program Goals:
- Help Veterans, employees, and their families improve health
- Help everyone stop using tobacco
- Provide support to become tobacco free
- Provide support for related problems such as weight gain, mood swings, and stress
This program guides you through lessons that can be accessed online or in person, including information about preparing to quit, tips on your quit day, overcoming roadblocks, getting used to life as a tobacco-free person, and supportive strategies to help you remain abstinent.
